What Everton think about Ethan Nwaneri deal as Arsenal open to permanent exit

Everton are back in the hunt for Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri.

The Toffees were first credited with interest in the 19-year-old last January, before he made a loan switch to Marseille.

It was said that David Moyes' side were keen on bringing the right-winger to Hill Dickinson on loan, but France was quickly outlined as the best destination for the England U21s star.

Nwaneri is widely regarded as a wonderkid for his rapid rise for the Gunners, grabbing 11 goal contributions for Mikel Arteta's side in the 2024-25 season.

The teenager was always going to struggle for minutes last season after the Premier League champions signed Noni Madueke as backup to Bukayo Saka, hence the move to Marseille.

With Nwaneri now entering an important stage of his career, he could be open to another move, as Everton's interest has been reignited.

Italian journalist and colleague of Fabrizio Romano, Matteo Moretto, has reported this Thursday that Everton are still keen on Nwaneri, along with AC Milan, RB Leipzig and Fulham.

Speaking on the Fabrizio Romano in Italiano YouTube channel, Moretto explained the latest on the teenage sensation.

Moretto said: "Milan is making inquiries to understand the situation with Nwaneri. There are other clubs interested, so watch out, because it's cut-throat.

"Everton and Fulham are very interested. Arsenal are open to a possible departure; a permanent deal would be better, but without losing control over the player."

This suggests that Arsenal would want to sell Nwaneri, but keep a percentage of the player's rights, which could mean that he might leave for cheaper than expected.

It's not known if Everton want a permanent deal or not, but they have kept tabs on the player for half a year now, and could soon make their move.

Especially if another transfer domino falls elsewhere at Hill Dickinson.
