What next for Everton as Man City make contact for Iliman Ndiaye transfer

Everton are facing up to the possibility of losing Iliman Ndiaye before the end of the transfer window.

The Senegal ace has been consistently linked with an exit from the Hill Dickinson Stadium throughout the transfer window.

Arsenal and Manchester United were named as potential suitors at the start of a summer where Ndiaye spoke of his desire to play in the Champions League.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal were then heavily linked, but talk of that deal taking place went cold over the past couple of weeks.

However, now it looks as though Manchester City are ready to enter the race in the closing days of the window.

Indeed, a new update suggests that things could be moving into place ahead of the final days of the window.

What's the latest with Manchester City and Everton ace Iliman Ndiaye?

Ndiaye has been involved in the early stages of the campaign under David Moyes.

It would undoubtedly represent a huge blow to lose a player of Ndiaye's quality, especially this late in the transfer window.

It was previously reported that Manchester City and Arsenal are tracking Ndiaye, with Everton asking for £80million to sanction a sale.

Noted transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri has now provided an update on City's interest.

He took to X to report that initial contact has now taken place as City explore the possibility of a deal before the window slams shut.

Tavolieri added that a deal for Ndiaye to go to City will remain a possibility until the end of the transfer window.

Everton facing increasing Ndiaye inevitability

Moyes has previously spoken to say that Ndiaye is the last player he would consider selling at Everton.

The truth is, though, that every player has his price and if Everton do receive bids in the region of £80m then they are inevitably going to have to consider them.

The Toffees could use the situation in their favour to try and strike a deal to bring Jack Grealish back to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Grealish is reportedly keen to return to Everton if he does leave City, and perhaps they could use their interest in Ndiaye as some sort of leverage.

But, there's no point denying that Ndiaye leaving would be a blow.
