Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca has dropped a big hint on where Everton-linked Jack Grealish will be playing next season.

Grealish was a big favourite with the Toffees faithul during his loan spell at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 30-year-old had two goals and six assists to his name from 20 Premier League appearances last term.

Grealish's campaign was sadly brought to a premature end by a stress fracture sustained against Aston Villa in February.

Since then, his future has been a little unclear with Everton opting not to trigger a £50million purchase option.

But there have been recurring reports that Everton want to bring him back to Hill Dickinson, though Maresca's latest comments may dampen that enthusiasm.

What did Enzo Maresca say about Jack Grealish's Man City future?

Grealish fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola, hence why his move to Everton was sanctioned.

At Everton, Grealish looked a player rejuvunated, and it was a genuine shame his loan stint was brought to an end when it was.

Goodison News recently covered how Grealish was back training individually at Man City.

New boss Maresca was speaking about Grealish at a press conference on Friday.

The Italian said: "Jack at the moment is here, he is a Man City player.

At any club I join, if there are players that belong to the club then it ismy duty to coach them.

"I have a good relationship with Jack, since I left we keep in touch and the reason why is because he has a good heart and he is a good guy."

What is Grealish's relationship with Maresca?

Maresca is well known to Grealish, given he was formerly an assistant to Guardiola before taking on managerial roles with first Leicester City then Chelsea.

Grealish had one of his best seasons in a Man City shirt during the 2022-23 season, where they won a Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League treble.

Maresca was an influential part of the coaching staff at that time, and it is evident he holds Grealish in extremely high regard.

Right now, it looks as though Everton have their answer as it pertains to Grealish.

Things can change really quickly, of course, but it is not looking particularly promising right now.
