Everton have made their pitch to sign teenage defender William Mirwasser.

The 17-year-old currently plies his trade for Hong Kong Football Club in the Far East.

Mirwasser, a right-back by trade, is still finding his footing in the senior game.

While he is not a name that will be known to many - if any - Evertonians, he rose to prominence last year via social media clips showcasing his talents.

And it appears the teenager is very much a player in demand ahead of turning 18 next year.

That is amid a new update that has dropped in France.

Why was William Mirwasser at Finch Farm?

French outlet L'Equipe reported on Tuesday evening that Mirwasser has visited Finch Farm during the international break.

He is said to have also visited the training facilities of Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

This is with the intention of finding the best next club for him, with a move to a European club on his wishlist.

Mirwasser cannot officially sign for a team before next August when turning 18.

However, he is very much keeping his options open as the report shares how he will spend the next international break visiting Strasbourg and Lecce.

Everton are said to have bene closely monitoring Mirwasser's progress up to now.

What has source said on Everton's interest in Mirwasser?

Mirwasser certainly seems to have his pick of options, but the question is where he can see himself developing most.

A source is quoted by the French outlet as saying: "The idea behind these trips is to discover the training centres of these clubs.

"And also to discuss the player's future. Nothing has been decided yet, so we want to take the time to explore all the possibilities available to him before he commits to a new club next summer."

Everton have had their chance to show off the Finch Farm facilities and no doubt pitch why a move to Merseyside is best for him.

Now it is over to the youngster to continue his tour of Europe and then come to a decision before too long.
