View: Everton handed boost as PSV will allow Denzel Dumfries to leave
According to AD Sportwereld journalist Mikos Gouka, Everton-linked Denzel Dumfries has an understanding with PSV Eindhoven regarding a potential transfer this summer.
The Dutch side know that they’re fighting a losing battle to keep hold of their right-back who’s enjoyed a brilliant start to the European Championships.
He played a key role in setting up two of the Netherland’s goals before scoring the winner in the dying stages of the game to pick up three points against Ukraine.
Everton, who have been linked with him before the EUROs even began, as highlighted in the tweet above, have now been handed an easier run to complete his signature this summer.
Speaking on the European Championship Podcast, the reliable Gouka said, “This boy [Dumfries] is of course going to make a top transfer.
“He cost €5.5 million (£4.7 million) for PSV when he came over from sc Heerenveen in 2018. Well, they will go over that value (to sell him). They have already promised him that they will cooperate.”

Should be interesting
We recently explained why Dumfries will be an ideal signing for Everton, and the fact that he will be allowed to leave without too much of a fuss, will make this quest all the more sweeter.
There’s been no mention of a transfer fee, but he’s valued at £14m by Transfermarkt and we expect PSV to demand something around that region as they will be looking to make a sizeable profit from his sale.
However, should he have an impressive tournament with the Netherlands, not only will his price rise, but so will the interest in his services.
It’s important we try and pull all the strings and try to get this one over the line as soon as possible.
While he may be lethal going forward, he’s also good defensively, especially in the air.
According to Statsbomb’s data, he finds himself in the top one per cent, in comparison full-backs in Europe’s top five leagues, for aerial duels won per 90 minutes with 4.06.
He’s also in the top six per cent for interceptions, averaging almost two per game.
Sign him up, Marcel Brands.
