Everton star Salomon Rondon in jeopardy ahead of Watford clash

Everton crashed to defeat against West Ham on Sunday with injuries starting to take their toll on the squad.

Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed out once again with their problems, although there is hope they can return soon.

That will mean that Rafa Benitez will no longer need to put up with Salomon Rondon in the final third.

Writing in the Liverpool Echo this week, Chris Beesley has suggested that Richarlison should be ready to take the spot of the summer signing.

“His place must now being in jeopardy, along with that of Salomon Rondon with Richarlison potentially being deployed against his previous club in either of those roles,” he wrote.

Not good enough.

After he first arrived, it was good enough to blame the fitness of Rondon on his poor performances, but that ship has now sailed.

The Venezuelan is nowhere near sharp enough to make a difference in the Premier League, and he had missed plenty of chances by messing around on the ball – something made very clear in the draw with Manchester United.

With Watford coming up next, it would have been the perfect chance for Rondon to break his duck but that chance looks to have gone.

Richarlison looks set to return, and there will be no question that he will start should he be back ready for Benitez to choose.

Hopefully, there can be a double boost and Calvert-Lewin can also return to partner the Brazilian and Watford can be put to the sword with a convincing win and display.
