Amadou Onana on Merseyside for medical ahead of £33.6m Everton transfer - Alan Myers
Amadou Onana’s move to Everton is at a very advanced stage with the player already on Merseyside for his medical, according to Sky Sports.
The Toffees moved to agree a deal for the 20-year-old Belgian international once West Ham agreed a fee for the player, with the player’s preference to move to Goodison Park.
A fee has been agreed with Lille and the player is in Liverpool for a medical with the club hopeful of getting it over the line by midday in order for him to play against Chelsea on Saturday evening according to Alan Myers.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Myers said; “Onana deal at a very advanced stage, player on Merseyside for medical and [fee] agreed, race is on to get it done by midday.”
Everton will pay €36m (£30.3m) + €4m (£3.3m) in add-ons for Onana [Saber Desfarges], with Lille retaining a 20% sell-on clause from the deal too.

Everton have moved quickly and decisively in the transfer market and shown that the club still has great appeal by beating West Ham to the player’s signature.
Onana was a prime target for Lampard in midfield because of his dominant and dynamic style and it’s believed that he will be able to slot straight in to the Premier League’s physical style.
Midfield was a key area for the club to improve upon this summer and with Idrissa Gueye and Onana both likely to join imminently, the Toffees can feel happy that they’ve done that.
Having him available for the Chelsea game would be a big boost too, although whether he’d start the game after minimal training time with his new teammates is unlikely.
Everton have got their man, at the expense of a club in European competition, to show everyone they’re still massive and have ambitions of getting into Europe themselves once again.
