Wolves defender Conor Coady has reportedly been spotted signing an Everton jersey ahead of a reported move to Goodison Park.

According to the Sky Sports transfer live blog (8 August, 11:52am), the deal is expected to be finalised in time for their next Premier League game against Wolves.

It is said that he will undergo his medical in 24-48 hours, but it seems like he has taken little time to make his intentions clear.

Via Twitter, the Everton End shared the snap and wrote, “Conor Coady signing Everton tops at Finch Farm.”

A leader arrives

Coady may not be an exceptional centre-back in terms of defensive abilities but he’s extremely influential in the right system.

He struggles in a back four but excels with two central defenders playing with him.

A lot has been spoken about his leadership attributes, both at Wolves and with the England national team as well.

For a side that lacks natural leaders, we would not be surprised if the Englishman takes authority of this side on the pitch and quickly becomes a vocal figure inside the dressing room.

There’s understood to be an option to buy which is a good thing as Everton can pull the plug in the summer if it doesn’t work out.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage does not seem to rate him too highly despite him being the club captain and the Toffees will undoubtedly capitalise on that assessment.

Hopefully, he proves Lage wrong and goes on to become a success at Goodison Park as he’s certainly got plenty still to offer.
