Everton midfielder Amadou Onana compared to Real Madrid legend with Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville also gushing over him

Everton midfielder Amadou Onana has been compared to Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane along with Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville gushing over him

The Belgian starred in his side’s 1-0 win over Canada and took to Instagram to post a picture from the game as his side secured the three points.

His Belgium teammate Zeno Debast was quick to comment on it and billed him “Zizouuuu” while Leeds’ Summerville also used emojis to show he was impressed with his performance.

Zidane is a World Cup winner and it’ll certainly be the highest of compliments paid to Onana who might also go on to lift the famous trophy next month.

Class act

Onana did not start the game but came off the bench and created havoc and completely bossed the midfield for the Red Devils.

Most Everton fans may not have heard much of him before he was signed in the summer, but he’s proven to be a quality acquisition.

He’s one of the first names on the team sheet for Frank Lampard and given the lack of quality in Belgium’s defensive midfield, he should be a regular in the coming years.

After this performance, we’ll be surprised if Roberto Martinez does not include him in the eleven for the next game as they need someone controlling the game for them.

Surely, after this tournament, he’s going to cost a lot more than what the Toffees paid for him in the summer so it could prove to be a bargain in hindsight.

We’re hoping all the Toffees players have good tournaments and do not come back injured as it’s a relegation battle once again and the best players are going to be needed.
