Everton book medical for Arnaut Danjuma with deal at advanced stages – Fabrizio Romano
Everton have booked a medical for Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma on Friday (20 January), with the club in advanced talks to seal a deal says Fabrizio Romano.
The Toffees have been competing with several Premier League and European clubs for his signature, with all of Southampton, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven linked (19 January, talkSPORT) with a deal also.
The Telegraph have reported that Danjuma has made his decision and picked Everton as his next club, but while Romano says he hasn’t quite decided yet he is reporting that Everton have booked a medical already.
“Crucial hours for Danjuma’s future,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (20 January).
“He will make a decision very soon, Everton are in advanced position and working on clubs side with Villarreal to get it done.
“There are other clubs in the race, up to Danjuma – Everton have medical tests booked..”
Deadline
The need for a striker has been well documented by everyone from fans to Frank Lampard himself, but it seems as though Everton have finally got their man.
With a huge Premier League clash against West Ham set for this weekend, it was imperative that we brought someone in ahead of that game.

That hasn’t happened, unless this deal gets completed and signed off prior to the midday deadline today (20 January), and that’s a real shame even though it’s positive news.
Danjuma is a brilliant player in the prime of his career and someone who has proven themselves as being able to find the back of the net at the highest level, scoring 22 goals last season in La Liga and the Champions League.
It may now be too late to get a result against West Ham, basing it off the back of other performances this season with our current striker options, but at least he’s likely to be here for the rest of the season and Everton fans finally have something to celebrate.
