Everton set to beat Bouremouth in race for Arnaut Danjuma – talkSPORT

Everton are set to beat Bournemouth to the signing of Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma on loan for the rest of the season, according to talkSPORT.

The Toffees have been linked to a boat loan of strikers in the winter window, with bids rejected for players including the likes of Danny Ings (Daily Mail, 4 Jan) and Lois Openda (Ignazio Genuardi, 18 Jan) this month.

But now they have jumped to the front of the queue for Dutch international Danjuma, and have seen off interest from their Premier League rivals to do so.

“[Everton] are set to beat [Bournemouth] in the race to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan,” they wrote on their official Twitter account (19 January).

“The Dutchman is also wanted by PSV Eindhoven and [Nottingham Forest]. talkSPORT sources understand.”

Brilliant

If you’d told Toffees fans that a deal for Danjuma would be done in the January transfer window, then most fans would have laughed you out of the door.

This is a player with Premier League experience who hit 22 goals in all competitions last season playing in La Liga and the Champions League, showing that he is capable of doing it at the highest level.

Everton

Not only are the club seemingly now able to bring him in, but a loan deal means that there is likely to be little financial expenditure immediately too and if he can save us and keep us in the Premier League then it makes the possibility of a permanent deal go up a notch too.

The race is on to get this deal over the line ahead of the weekend clash with West Ham now, which seems quite unlikely with a midday deadline on Friday (20 January).

But finally there is good news at Goodison Park for Everton in the transfer window as it looks like they’re closing in on a big signing.
