Udinese respond to Everton bid for striker Beto as Napoli also show interest

Udinese have reportedly turned down the Everton bid on deadline day for striker Beto as they want to keep him until the end of the season.

According to Tutto Mercato Web [31 January], it has been made clear that the Portuguese striker will not be leaving the club this month.

Napoli have entered the race and will attempt to secure his services in the summer.

Another one bites the dust

The Toffees tabled a £22million bid including bonuses to sign Beto on transfer deadline day and as many expected, it was turned out.

This has been a characteristic of the transfer window for Everton and it continued to frustrate fans throughout deadline day.

Players that were barely mentioned throughout the month are suddenly emerging as priority deadline day targets, only for them to reject a move to Goodison Park.

We do not know if the Toffees will bring in any new player before the 11pm deadline as everything has been delayed at the club this month.

Sacking Frank Lampard so late gave Dyche no time to bring in his targets or at least work on signing them and now he’ll be forced to sign whoever is available.

He cannot really be blamed if the club fails to avoid relegation as he’s got absolutely no backing from the board in a crucial period.
