Jesper Lindstrom wows with spectacular moment in Everton vs Preston

Jesper Lindstrom impressed Chris Beesley after scoring a top-class free kick for Everton against Preston on his first Toffees outing.

Sean Dyche's men secured a resounding win at Deepdale in their penultimate pre-season friendly on Saturday (3 August).

It was Lindstrom who took the headlines with a fine second-half free-kick in his first appearance for the club since joining from Napoli on loan.

Liverpool Echo reporter Beesley was full of praise for the Denmark international, awarding him an eight in his player ratings.

He wrote: "A spectacular introduction to English football with a terrific debut goal as he curled a right foot free kick from just outside the area into the Preston net it what proved to be his final act of the game."

The Toffees have been in need of fresh faces on the wings for a few seasons and under Sean Dyche they have gotten that.

Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison had a positive campaign last year but bringing in Lindstrom is looking like it could be a very shrewd piece of business.

The 24-year-old gave a good account of himself against the Championship side, which has certainly left supporters excited for the season.

The crowning moment of his performance certainly came after curling a pinpoint effort into the top corner from a long-range free kick.

There is a question of whether or not the goalkeeper could have done better but that doesn't take away from the quality of the strike.

Lindstrom will provide Dyche with an additional option and if he can maintain his free-kick ability moving into the Premier League season, he could win the Toffees points on his own moving forward.
