Farhad Moshiri will have been running Everton at a "significant" personal loss after takeover developments, according to football finance expert Dan Plumley.

Although the exact details of Moshiri's deal with the Roma owners remain unclear, Plumley insists the Blues current owner will be set for a "significant" financial hit regardless of the terms of the takeover.

"I don't think we knew what to expect when it comes to what he'd walk away with," Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.

"We knew he was holding out for certain figures along the way and the perception was that the club was overvalued at that point.

"Some of that was about him recouping all of his money which of course is always the way with football club takeovers.

"If that is the number that he ends up with, irrespective of that, over the course of his tenure he will have lost money that's pretty clear.

When will the Friedkin Group complete their Everton takeover at Goodison Park?

"It becomes a case from the individual's point of view of how much are you prepared to walk away with or when does it get to a point where you just have to walk away and make do with wherever the financial situation is.

"It's been an interesting one and I always think football club owners will try and get a bit of value back in a takeover, but often that doesn't happen.

"Whatever Moshiri walks away with here, he'll still be running at a significant loss personally over the years of his ownership at Goodison Park."

While no official update on TFG's takeover has emerged since the original announcement, it has been suggested that things could be progressing quickly behind the scenes at Goodison Park.

Hopefully, it won't be too long until the new owners are in place on the blue half of Merseyside and Everton supporters can begin to look forward to a brighter future that doesn't include Moshiri.
