Armstrong ‘visibly frustrated’ in front of Thelwell despite Everton victory

Harrison Armstrong showed his frustration despite Everton under-18s securing an FA Youth Cup win against Wolves, according to The Athletic.

The online outlet reported on 23 January that director of football Kevin Thelwell and first-team coach Leighton Baines were in attendance at Goodison Park.

The young Toffees side secured a 3-1 win and the 18-year-old picked up two assists but was still showed “moments of visible frustration” when forward runs were not picked out by a teammate.

The versatile attacker has already featured six times for the first-team in L4 which could explain his frustrations when returning to play at youth level.

After picking up minutes against the likes of Bournemouth, Southampton and Tottenham, the youngster will be hoping for more first-team opportunities under David Moyes.

With that being said, he won’t do himself many favours by showing his frustrations and throwing a strop when he doesn’t get the ball.

With Thelwell and Baines in attendance, they may well appreciate the passion from the Englishman but it may not suit him well while transitioning to the senior side.

Despite this, there is every chance that the pair were sent to watch Armstrong on behalf of Moyes to consider options before the end of the winter transfer window.

If the local lad can work on his attitude and become a team player, there is every chance he will become a regular feature for the Scot across the second half of the season.

In other Everton news, club sources have shared an “adamant” January stance on an exit-linked player.
