Fabrizio Romano says if Everton-Alcaraz deal will still happen as window closes
Everton have the documents ready to sign Carlos Alcaraz in a post-deadline deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
He reported via his personal X account after the transfer window closed on Monday night (3 February) that the Blues will get the deal done for the 22-year-old midfielder.
Everton have almost everything in place to sign the Argentinian from Flamengo on a loan-to-buy basis.
A deal sheet has been submitted to the Premier League so that extra time has been granted for the Merseyside club to finish off the formalities of the deal.
Everton fans wait on bated breath as deadline passes
The fact that a deal sheet has gone in and that Romano is saying that the deal will get done should appease Everton fans.
It’s late now on Monday night with midnight approaching, so Evertonians can probably go up to bed and hope that when they wake up – or early at some point in the morning – the club will have officially announced Alcaraz’s arrival from Flamengo.

It’s been a bit of a crazy one.
Flamengo announced on Saturday (1 February) that they agreed a deal with Everton for Alcaraz’s return to the Premier League.
They also confirmed that it would be a loan deal with an obligation-to-buy clause tied into the agreement.
It remains to be seen what the late issues have been because it should have been a cakewalk to get this deal done after that point, especially as the midfielder was reported to have had his medical on Sunday (2 February).
Still, this is Everton.
And nothing is straightforward.
