Everton ‘to sign John Stones’ after latest Man City transfer news
John Stones could become the first Bramley-Moore arrival for Everton after the latest update from Manchester City.
Optimism levels at Everton are much higher than they were a few months ago, and much of that is down to the progress made under David Moyes.
Under Sean Dyche, who has since been mooted for the Sunderland job [Mackem News], the Toffees looked all but destined for the drop, but the Scotsman has had his say in that.
If Everton back Moyes in the window, they could be in for a very special season, and after the latest update on Stones, they may have the perfect chance to kickstart that.

Stones could make shock return to Everton this summer
Stones‘ future at Man City is said to be uncertain, and the option to seek greener pastures in the summer may be appealing to him, depending on what happens at The Etihad.
Given his affiliation with Everton, they may already hold the upper hand in the race to sign him, but a report from TBR states that the Englishman is “settled in the North-West”, which will do nothing but increase their chances of winning the race for his signature.
| Honours | Premier League | FA Cup | EFL Cup | Community Shield | Super Cup | Champions League | Club World Cup |
| Stones | 6 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
The one concern may be over his injury record, given the fact that Stones has started just 10 games over the last few seasons under Pep Guardiola.
With that said, he would be a remarkable addition to the Toffees and one that is certainly worth pursuing as they look to continue their progress made under Moyes.

Moyes will need some help in the summer window
Moyes has already shown his ability to get this side winning games, but a failure to build on that in the summer will restrict the amount of progress that can be made.
Everton need to recruit well and need to recruit players who can come in and have an immediate impact as they kickstart their Bramley-Moore era.
