Thierno Barry already plotting route out of Everton as January transfer priority emerges

Thierno Barry could soon be replaced at Everton.

Barry signed for Everton from Villarreal in the summer and was seen as the solution to striker problems on Merseyside.

David Moyes has failed to get the best out of the striker, with Barry struggling for regular minutes at Everton since making his Premier League switch.

The Frenchman has made some strange social media posts in the past week, with Barry speaking personally to defend his actions at Everton.

It looks as if the dream of success at the Hill Dickinson Stadium could come crashing down for Barry once the January window opens.

Everton eye move for Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee

Ivan Toney has emerged as a target for Everton ahead of the winter window as the L4 club sets out their stall ahead of transfer season.

Rob Dorsett reported on 11 November that the England international and Joshua Zirkzee are high on a list of targets for January.

Moyes and Co. are prioritising the signing of a new striker, one who represents a different profile to Beto and Barry.

The Evertonians will have to wait on the status of the striking pair to see whether they will be available in the upcoming window.

Should either of this duo sign for the Merseyside outfit, it does feel likely that they will have demands over starting minutes.

If that is to be the case, it would certainly spell bad news for Barry as his importance in the squad is only set to drop as a result.

Theirno Barry could force Everton exit

Barry has already shown on his social media that he does have a fiery side to him that could come out once again on Merseyside in January.

Having signed for a sizable fee in the summer, he would have expected a better start to life in the Premier League, but it hasn’t turned out that way.

His showing in the win over Fulham last time out summed up his struggles and proved exactly why Moyes is reluctant to trust him.

The Toffees want to bring in a striker for this reason, and someone with the experience of Toney could prove to be a game-changer in the second half of the campaign.

Barry may end up feeling hard done by if a deal goes through in January, and he may look at his options away from Bramley-Moore before the window ends.
