Everton payout dreams dashed as £75m Bayern Munich switch dismissed for Anthony Gordon

Everton will be hopeful of landing a multi-million-pound fee if Anthony Gordon leaves Newcastle United in the upcoming summer.

The England international isn’t well-liked on Merseyside after his antics since sealing a move to St James’ Park back in January 2023.

His sudden links to the red side of Merseyside certainly haven’t helped matters, and that prompted some fierce reactions, particularly at Goodison Park last season.

The 25-year-old can still serve a purpose for the Toffees as his sell-on clause looks set to add to David Moyes’ budget moving into the summer window.

Gordon has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, which could seal Everton a sizable payout, but not if Ally McCoist gets his own way.

Ally McCoist wouldn’t pay £75m for Anthony Gordon at Bayern Munich

It hasn’t been an amazing season for the forward, as he has often faced negative reviews from supporters in the north east.

He has still managed to score and assist in plentiful supply, even in a largely poor campaign for Eddie Howe’s side.

His exploits in front of goal have prompted serious transfer interest as the summer edges closer, with Bayern Munich entering the race for his signature.

Reports have suggested that Newcastle could demand £75million for his signature after four seasons at St James’ Park.

Vincent Kompany’s side want the Englishman, but McCoist has slammed the idea of the deal due to the level of competition at the Allianz Arena.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday, he said: “I wouldn’t pay £75m for him, no way. Even more so if I were Bayern Munich, because he’s not going to start. Why are you going to pay £75m for a backup?

“Where is he going to play? He’s not going to get in ahead of Olise, Diaz, Gnabry, Kane, Musiala. I’m sorry. I like him, but he’s not getting in there. I think they would be crazy to pay £75m.”

Everton are dreaming of a payout for Gordon as their sell-on clause hangs in the balance for the forward this summer.

Everton could miss out on multi-million fee for Gordon

The Blues will be sitting back and dreaming of their former star sealing a massive move away from Newcastle in the summer.

A move to Bayern Munich would certainly be beneficial, as it would mean Gordon wouldn’t face the Toffees any time soon.

At £75m, Everton could be expecting a payout of anywhere between £3m and £4.5m if they hold a sell-on clause of 10 or 15 per cent.

That would certainly act as a boost in the summer and allow Moyes to spend slightly more than he initially expected.

The Scot is now relying on Bayern Munich or another big side to fork out for Gordon and go against what McCoist has said about the attacker.
