Everton get green light to sign Abdul Fatawu, but transfer comes with a risk
Everton had been linked with a move to sign Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City.
With European football still on the cards, David Moyes and Everton will be fixated on having a strong end to the season.
However, plans will already be slowly getting put into place ahead of the summer transfer window, with another big recruitment push expected.
Among those linked with a move to Hill Dickinson is Fatawu, who had been one of the only positives from a dismal season for Leicester.
While Fatawu may be an exciting addition for Everton, it would be a transfer that comes with a huge risk.

Abdul Fatawu’s form should be of concern to Everton
Leicester have been dreadful this season, but their relegation to League One was only confirmed on Tuesday night after their draw with Hull City.
Despite having been the man they look towards for quality, Fatawu was unable to get a goal or an assist, and not for the first time this season.
| Championship | Fatawu |
| Games | 43 |
| Goals | 9 |
| Assists | 7 |
| xG | 4.94 |
| Chances created | 55 |
While the winger has 16 goal involvements this season in the Championship, he has managed none in his last five games for the Foxes, while having had just two in his last 13.
Leicester’s lack of form certainly plays a part, but for Fatawu’s involvement to have dried up so suddenly should be of worry to the Toffees.
Everton may still persue Fatawu deal for one reason
Again, it would be a risk to bring Fatawu back to the Premier League.
However, Leicester’s relegation to League One may have reduced that slightly depending on the fee involved in a potential deal.
The Foxes are in dire straits from a financial point of view, and they may be forced to offload their talent for discounted fees just to stay afloat.
If that were to be the case, it may be a risk worth taking.
