Michael Keane contract: All Everton fans need to know as defender signs new deal
Michael Keane has extended his contract with Everton.
The 33-year-old’s contract was set to expire at the end of the season, but he has now agreed to remain with the Hill Dickinson Stadium side.
The former Burnley man has stepped up in the absence of Jarrad Branthwaite this season, forming a solid partnership with James Tarkowski.
Now, he is set to remain with the Blues, which will be a welcome boost to David Moyes and his side as they fight for European football.
Everton now have less work to do in the summer, as centre-back depth will not be on the agenda.

How long has Keane signed for with Everton?
Keane has committed his future to Everton for a further year, the club announced on 23 April.
He has signed a one-year deal that will see him stay on Merseyside until June 2027 at the very earliest.

It has not been stated whether he has secured a pay rise or remains on the same wage packet as his previous contract.
What did Keane say about extension?
Keane admitted that he was delighted to stick around with the Toffees in the official announcement.
Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “I’m really happy, the Club means a lot.
“It’s one of those things that’s easy to say, but it has become part of me. It’s who I am, and it feels like family to me – the people around the Club, the fans, the players, the staff. So it’s really special to me, and I couldn’t really imagine my life without Everton.
“I think it’s been a great season for me personally. I’ve played a lot of football – probably more than I expected – and I feel like I’ve done well and I’ve absolutely loved it. So, to get my 10th year here, I think it’s a big achievement and one I’m proud of.
“Ten years is a long time. I’ve seen a lot here and been through a lot, and it’s good now we’re in a much better place than what we have been in the past. I go into my 10th season looking really positive, and thinking what we can achieve and where we can be is really exciting.”
What did Moyes say?
Moyes has also had his say on the matter, and he is also happy that Keane will be staying for the upcoming campaign.
He confirmed that having his consistency and experience around will be a benefit for the L3 club going into a campaign where they could be playing in Europe.
He said: “We’re pleased to have extended Michael’s long service at Everton.
“He is an experienced and respected member of the squad, who knows the standards we expect at the Club.
“Michael has been consistent all season and he’ll continue to be a valuable part of our squad going into next season.”
