Everton: David Moyes to blame for West Ham failure as Dwight McNeil experiment continues
Everton fell to a frustrating 2-1 defeat away to West Ham on Saturday.
David Moyes travelled to face his former side in his first trip to the London Stadium since returning to Merseyside last season.
The Scot is an iconic boss in East London despite lifting the Conference League before being hounded out by their supporters.
He got a positive reception in E20, but his side ultimately fell to defeat as Callum Wilson netted an added-time winner for the Hammers.
Everton suffered defeat away to West Ham, and ultimately, it comes down to poor decision-making, as evidenced by Dwight McNeil’s position in the starting XI.

Dwight McNeil has stinker vs West Ham
The 26-year-old has been a useful asset for the Blues even after his move to Crystal Palace controversially fell through.
Moyes has stood by the winger and continued to utilise him in the starting XI week after week at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
| Stat (Premier League 25/26) | Dwight McNeil |

That loyalty continued against the Irons, and unsurprisingly, it didn’t work out once again.
The Englishman started on the right and was afforded just 65 minutes of action as he racked up 27 touches and an expected goal tally of 0.03.

He failed to take a shot that wasn’t blocked, maintaining a zero per cent cross accuracy while being dispossessed twice.
That isn’t shocking as McNeil has regularly struggled for Everton recently, and that only continued away to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
David Moyes to blame for Everton downfall
The Toffees have now suffered back-to-back defeats with late goals conceded, making the difference against both Liverpool and West Ham.
Wilson found the net with barely minutes remaining in added time, just as Virgil van Dijk did in the Merseyside derby.
Despite that, Moyes continues to utilise names like McNeil in his starting XI in a way that clearly isn’t working right now.
The winger had no impact and left the game in a position where the Hammers could go on to seal all three points.
The Scottish head coach needs to make big decisions and make changes that are going to make a difference, rather than sticking with failing players.
