Everton: Friedkin Group have ‘real conundrum’ as Alan Myers demands David Moyes answer
Everton have a massive summer ahead, with all eyes on The Friedkin Group at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Alan Myers expects the American owners to have a “real conundrum” after David Moyes’ failure to cement the Toffees’ place in Europe this season.
The former Sky Sports journalist has demanded answers from TFG around the future of the Scottish manager and the long-term plan at the Blues.
Another defeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium to Sunderland on 17 May has left the Merseyside outfit in 12th place with one Premier League game to go.
Regis Le Bris got the better of Moyes in the Black Cats’ 3-1 victory away from home, leading to questions around the Scottish manager’s future in L3.

David Moyes loses faith among Everton support after loss vs Sunderland
Writing in Everton.News on 18 May, Myers said, “Fans don’t want to take a considered view; if they see an opportunity, they expect you to take it, and sadly, after getting themselves into a great position to push on, Everton have failed to do so. That leaves TFG with a real conundrum. Where do they go from here?
“The question is, what does that long-term plan look like? Does it include the manager? And if so, for how long? What resources, as he enters the transfer market in this huge summer, will he have at his disposal?”
Moyes has seen the Toffees drop crucial points in six consecutive Premier League games, failing to win any of them.
| Competition | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
| Premier League | 37 | 13 | 10 | 14 |
| FA Cup | 2 | 1 | – | 1 |
| Crabao Cup | 1 | – | – | 1 |
The Blues’ dip in form has come at the wrong time of the season, as they have clearly failed to capitalise in the race for a European spot.
It would take several results going in the Merseyside outfit’s favour on the final day to see the return of European football at the club.
The Scottish manager has brought stability since replacing Sean Dyche, but the Hill Dickinson Stadium now expect from their team going forward.
Friedkin Group have no-brainer David Moyes replacement
Andoni Iraola has been linked with Everton as he prepares to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season.
The Cherries find themselves in sixth place going into the final day of the season, with European football in their hands.

If the Toffees do have an opportunity to snap the Spanish manager ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, they should do so and part company with Moyes.
While the Scottish manager has been a loyal servant at the Merseyside outfit, he may not be the right man to achieve success in L3.
