Everton 2026-27: Key dates for supporters to look out for ahead of new Premier League season

Everton’s 2025-26 season came to an end in disappointing fashion on Sunday, as David Moyes’ side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham.

After returning from the international break last month, the Toffees embarked on a dismal run, with just three points coming from seven matches.

With three draws and four losses, the Blues would be blown out of European contention, putting a sour note on what had been a positive campaign up to that point.

As a result, Moyes is on thin ice among the fanbase, leaving him in need of a strong start to the coming 2026-27 season.

With this in mind, Goodison News takes a look at the key dates for supporters to put in their diaries.

When will Everton return for pre-season training?

The pre-season training start date shifts from year to year, though it typically lands within the same two-week period.

Because the World Cup runs from mid-June to mid-July, a number of Everton players are unlikely to be available straight away, depending on their progress at the tournament.

Even so, the bulk of the squad is expected to come back together toward the end of June, intent on putting last season’s bleak conclusion behind them.

The Toffees are yet to announce any major pre-season plans, leaving it somewhat late for supporters who wish to travel to follow the side.

Though, there are ongoing talks for a friendly to take place against Newcastle, at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh – a match that could draw fantastic crowds at the iconic venue.

While the World Cup has not helped with plans, hopefully the club will be able to announce some dates for fans to jot down in the coming weeks.

When will the 2026-27 season start for Everton?

As confirmed back in November, the Premier League season will once again begin in late August, with the opening round of fixtures scheduled for the weekend of 22 August.

The campaign will conclude on 30 May, with the final round pushed back by a week. This adjustment creates an 89-day gap from the end of last season and ensures 33 days of clear space following the World Cup.

In total, the calendar will comprise 33 weekends of action plus five additional midweek rounds. The full fixture list is set to be released at 10 am on 19 June.

Following a disappointing finish to last season, Everton will be determined to respond and re-establish themselves in the race for European qualification.

The delayed start offers the Toffees valuable time to strengthen the squad and address key areas in need of improvement.

After a 2025-26 campaign that ultimately petered out despite some encouraging spells, supporters are eager for a clear, ambitious plan to inspire belief ahead of the new season.
