Bryan King claims Everton are set for a "very strong" financial boost once the Friedkin Group complete a takeover of the club.

The ex-Goodison scout believes the Friedkin Group could help the Toffees to become debt-free.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (15 June), Friedkin is set to invest £548million into Everton after having a takeover offer accepted by Farhad Moshiri

According to the report, £337million of that investment represents the debt amassed by the Toffees.

As reported by iNews (18 June), a deal remains on track for the group - owned and run by Dan Friedkin - to complete a takeover at Goodison Park.

And King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - is confident of the club's long-term prospects.

“I would have thought an Everton takeover would cost more than that," King said.

“However, if that is what they’ve agreed then it could help the Toffees become debt-free and it might allow them to run properly as a football club once again.

“They’re going to get Premier League money on top of this takeover investment.

“With all those figures combined it looks as if it could put Everton in a very strong financial position.”

Will Everton get back on track under the Friedkin Group?

After the drawn-out 777 Partners saga, supporters at Goodison Park will be desperate for this takeover to go through.

It has been a miserable few years for the Toffees and fans will be hoping that Friedkin can bring some stability to the club.
