Everton are continuing to make strides commercially to boost their squad cost ratio situation.

The Toffees were stung badly in the past by Profit and Sustainability Rules, the ramifications of which were almost calamitous.

In the 2023/24 campaign, Everton were slapped with two separate points deductions, but managed to keep their heads above water.

PSR rules are being swapped for SCR regulations, though, which means different challenges are being faced.

Premier League clubs are taking steps to boost their commercial and sponsorship revenues, which in turn increases what can be spent on transfers and wages.

Everton have now announced a new agreement, which will bring another boost to the coffers.

Everton announce 'landmark' agreement

Last week, Everton confirmed CMC Markets as their new front-of-shirt sponsor.

It was reported that the the new sponsor, combined with Stake being shirt-sleeve sponsor, would bring in a projected £25million.

Everton have now announced that British watch brand Christopher Ward as its first-ever official training kit partner.

A statement from Everton called it a "landmark agreement", and said it would be a multi-year partnership.

The Toffees have a long-standing partnership with Christopher Ward, which began as official blobal timing partner.

The relationship branched out to becoming a shirt sleeve sponsor, a founding partner of Hill Dickinson Stadium, and supporter of Everton Women and Everton in the Community.

Everton's statement added that from the 2027/28 campaign, Christopher Ward branding will extend across Under-21s, Under-18s and academy training kit.

Everton receive major SCR boost, why £25m news is good for David Moyes

What is SCR and why is this good news for Everton?

SCR is replacing the unpopular PSR regulations, but clubs will have to be mindful of how they balance their spending.

From this season, teams will be measured on their outgoings on player-related costs against money they rake in from football-related revenue, as well as profits or losses from selling players.

Premier League teams are allowed to spend 85 per cent of any revenue gained on their squads.

Points deductions can be imposed, but will only be applied to clubs reaching a 115 per cent threshold, while financial penalties will be slapped on teams who spend between 85 and 115 per cent.

But any increased revenue from these types of deals can only be a boost for Everton moving forward.

And it is really encouraging to see these kinds of decisions being taken to benefit the long-term future of the Toffees, and boosting David Moyes' budget.
