Kevin Thelwell is currently weighing up a number of contracts at Everton with futures on the line, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper reported in their print edition [05 June, pg. 32] that the director of football is set to take drastic action at Goodison Park, especially in the academy.

It is suggested that up to 10 young talents could leave Everton this summer as a period of change is set to hit the club after the strategic review that took place.

Thelwell is said to be expecting numerous under-18 players to make the step up into the under-23s squad across the summer to improve options, and numbers.

The director is currently looking for a new under-23s manager, as well as an academy director as the younger age groups take a step in another direction.

Some of the players who could leave are Jack Barrett, Joe Anderson, Sebastien Kristensen, Harry Hagan and Einar Iversen with many others on the chopping block.

Big summer.

Frank Lampard is likely going to want a big say in this too.

These are players who could be one step away from the senior side in the Premier League, although it would take something big for that to happen going into a new season with no fresh concerns.

Names such as Nathan Broadhead are named as ones to watch too, with him and Lewis Gibson potentially set for another loan move away as the academy goes in a new direction.

With 10 players potentially leaving, we could see more business done on the academy front with some fresh faces coming into the club over the summer window.

One thing for sure, there has to be more influence on youth now given our financial constraints, and they can use this time of change to prove themselves.

The ones that stick around are certainly ones to watch going into next season, as it looks as though Thelwell gets ready to make some brutal decisions.
