Wealthy US family consider £1bn+ Everton takeover chase in bid to take on Liverpool for Merseyside supremacy
The wealthy American Dell family are considering a £1billion takeover of Everton.
The Toffees are a target for the US family, who have been searching for a Premier League club to take over.
The Dell family are involved with lending company MSD, and are now thinking of entering the £1bn race to buy the Blues.
The Friedkin Group recently announced their plans to sell the club, despite only taking over in L3 in 2024.
A full sale of the club is wanted, and TFG would reportedly be happy for Michael Dell's company to make a move.
Everton are looking to sell the club as soon as possible with the January window approaching, and it could be the Dell family who are next in charge at Hill Dickinson.
£1billion Dell-Everton takeover update shared
According to an update from Alan Nixon's Patreon on Sunday, the Dell family are considering entering the chase to buy Everton.
Representatives of the Dell group previously looked at the Toffees, but this time the club may be a more attractive proposition, given that off-field issues have been addressed.
It's said that the chance to compete against Liverpool in the Premier League may appeal to them, with the opportunity to flip the script in Merseyside.
Dan Friedkin and Co. would reportedly be "delighted" to welcome interest from the Dell family, with no other suitors currently of their size.
Dell was behind a £350million attempt to buy the Toffees in 2024, led by Andy Bell and George Downing.
MSD have plunged millions into several Premier League clubs in the past, and has been involved in making a healthy interest with the likes of Burnley and Sunderland in recent times.
Why did Dell hold back from buying Everton in 2024?
Downing and Bell are said to be two lifelong Everton fans, as their bid in 2024 was backed financially by Dell.
There were several other attempts from interested parties to buy the club from Farhad Moshiri, including TFG.
If the wealthy US family helped buy Everton in 2024, Dell would have been financially restricted from lending to the other Premier League clubs that they were involved with.
There were never any reports that suggested Dell's faith in Everton's potential wavered, just that there was financial conflict for MSD.
It seems like the Blues appear a more attractive prospect for Dell this time round.
