Adam Aznou's transfer to Everton has had minimal impact, as the Moroccan has struggled to imprint himself into David Moyes' plans.

The Toffees have been desperate for reinforcements on the flanks of defence, but despite Aznou being an option, it is not one the manager has turned to.

To this day, the left-back has only featured on one occasion for Everton, an appearance off the bench in the FA Cup against Sunderland.

The 19-year-old will undoubtedly be frustrated with the circumstance he finds himself in and may look to move away for first-team football.

However, before thinking about an Everton exit, Aznou must take into account how Moyes integrated Seamus Coleman into his side back in 2009, as a similar path could be followed.

Seamus Coleman recounts similar scenario to Adam Aznou

Coleman has shared a story that may resonate personally with Aznou at Everton.

The Irish fullback has explained how, at the start of his time in Merseyside, Moyes did not trust him. It seems quite similar to Aznou's ongoing situation, right?

Well, the Moroccan could do with hearing the words of the Toffees' club captain, as it raises hope for the defender yet.

Coleman, speaking via the Premier League's YouTube channel, stated: "Moyes, who was here the first time around, didn't trust me, and rightly so at the beginning defensively, so he played me in right midfield for my first full season.

"Then after my spell at Blackpool, I felt I belonged in the Premier League, and I had to prove it."

The 37-year-old has showcased that Moyes will not fully count you out, even if his trust in you is lacking. Moyes followed a similar decision to Aznou this season in his sole appearance.

The former Bayern Munich youngster was brought on further up the pitch and away from his natural left-back role against Sunderland.

It could perhaps be a sign that Aznou is following the same pathway that Coleman once trailed.

Adam Aznou needs his 'Blackpool' spell

As Coleman shared, the loan to Blackpool did him the world of good, and if Everton believes Aznou is a top talent, they must follow the same blueprint.

Aznou needs a top loan, whether to another Premier League side or to the higher ends of the Championship.

In essence, the Moroccan needs to have his Blackpool moment before any final decision on his L3 future is made.

Giving up on a player so early would be unwise for the Toffees, and history shows that fullbacks found to be untrustworthy can go on to have successful careers for the Blues.
