Andrea Pirlo would reportedly be keen on bringing Gianluigi Donnarumma to Everton should he be appointed the manager.

According to Calciomercato, Everton would demand the services of the soon-to-be free agent should the former Juventus manager succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.

The Toffees' managerial hunt has gone through several twists and turns, and despite a lot of speculation, Nuno Espirito Santo appears to be the favourite for the job.

However, Pirlo's name is still in the mix and the Italian could be open to moving to Merseyside as he will look to get his first taste of the English game.

Should he do that, there's a very good chance Donnarumma is going to be his primary transfer target.

Unrealistic much?

While Donnarumma would undoubtedly be a welcome addition and one of the biggest signings we've made in years, it will be difficult to convince him to join, given the number of clubs vying for his services.

Per Fabrizio Romano, PSG, Juventus and Barcelona are all keen on his services and it's likely to become a long-drawn transfer saga this summer.

Donnarumma, a Golden Boy nominee in 2019, has grown leaps and bounds since then to become the undisputed number one for his country. He’s been the first choice for his club since his teenage years.

Another stumbling block could be the fact that his agent Mino Raiola is likely to demand a colossal signing on fee along with bumper wages for the player, which would most certainly be beyond our budget.

However, signing a goalkeeper this summer is a must given that Robin Olsen has gone back to Roma.
