Prime Minister Andy Burnham will be in attendance for Everton's clash with Wolves - and he will not be coming alone.

The Toffees welcome Championship side Wolves to Hill Dickinson Stadium in round three of the Carabao Cup.

Wednesday night's tie is a repeat of the same fixture from this stage last year, which Wolves edged at Molineux.

David Moyes has been urged to name a strong line-up on home soil as Everton fans eye a cup run, with just one more round between themselves and the quarter-finals after this.

Burnham, who is returning to work following the death of his father on Monday, will be hoping to see his Everton side advance.

And he is not the only 'celebrity' Everton fan who is expected to watch the cup tie.

Burnham still visits Everton matches when he can, including the opening-day win against Crystal Palace.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Burnham is due to meet Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Wednesday.

The pair are then expected to attend the Everton versus Wolves match later in the day.

Carney is a high-profile figure in his own right, but his links to Everton are perhaps not as well known.

He previously revealed this was down to having cousins who live in Liverpool and support Everton.

Travel advice issues to fans attending Everton vs Wolves

Tens of thousands of others will be joining Burnham and Carney at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Those attending the match have been issued some travel advice due to emergency roadworks taking place.

Due to the full closure of Great Howard Street, between the Paisley Street area and Walter Street, extra congestion is anticipated.

A revised traffic management plan is now in place, which will ensure supporters are able to get to and from the stadium with as little disruption as possible.

This includes those attending via the shuttle bus, with fans urged to plan their journey in advance.
