How Everton fans reacted to seeing Andy Burnham arrive at Hill Dickinson to watch clash vs Crystal Palace
Andy Burnham has never hid his love Everton over the years.
The Prime Minister is a proud Toffees supporter and despite his busy schedule has carved out time to go watch his club in action.
The Premier League season has got underway, with Everton's campaign kicking off against Crystal Palace today at 3 PM (22 August).
David Moyes' side are the home outfit, with both Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil poised to feature against their former sides.
And with Burnham in attendance, there could be an added bit of pressure to get a strong result over the line.
As Everton supporters have welcomed Burnham to their home stadium ahead of the clash.
What Everton fans have done as Andy Burnham arrives at Hill Dickinson Stadium
The pressure will be on Everton to start their season strong, especially with a figure like Prime Minister Burnham in attendance.
As shared by journalist Paddy Boyland, Burnham has been spotted at Hill Dickinson Stadium ahead of Everton's opening league fixture versus Crystal Palace.
Everton supporters have reacted to the arrival of the Prime Minister with shouts of "Andy" as well as loud cheers.
Burnham appeared to be in good spirits, seemingly going over and interacting with the crowd
So, hopefully following full-time, the Prime Minister still has those positive feelings.
And an Everton win would certainly keep those spirits high.
How close are Everton to fulfiling Burnham's transfer wish?
With Burnham being a proud Toffee, he has plenty of opinions about the club he supports.
Most recently, Burnham made it clear he wants Everton to sign a right-back.
And truthfully, that is what every Blues fan wants to see happen this summer window.
However, Everton appear to be no closer to signing a right-back than they were a few weeks ago
While there have been names emerging for the position, nothing concrete has happened in the market.
Guele Doue is Moyes' preference, but his exorbitant price tag is likely to make any move for the Ivorian difficult.
Either way, there is just 10 days left to go until the transfer window closes, and Everton need to get a move on.
On this occassion, Merlin Rohl has been deployed in the back-four, but that should only be a temporary solution for Moyes and not a full-time fix.
