Everton travel to the Emirates on Saturday afternoon with every intention to bounce back from defeat.

David Moyes' side were bested for the first time this season last week against Chelsea, with Arsenal the next side looking to take three points.

Everton have recently been a bit of a bogey team for former Goodison man and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

The Toffees have managed to frustrate the North Londoners on plenty of occasions.

However, they head to the Emirates as the heavy second favourites, as they look to cause an upset.

Now, BBC pundit Chris Sutton has predicted their chances, with the former Premier League striker convinced of one thing the Merseyside club will do in the game.

What Chris Sutton predicts for Everton's trip against Arsenal

Sutton has returned with his weekly predictions, with the Englishman giving Everton a small bit of hope.

While he has predicted a 2-0 loss, the BBC Sport pundit believes it will not be a walk in the park for the Gunners, with Everton putting on a "tough" effort.

He shared: "Arsenal were so ugly in the way they beat Nottingham Forest last weekend, but were a lot easier on the eye in the midweek draw with Bayern Munich.

"They are going to be without the injured Bukayo Saka for this game, but they are at home, and they should still have too much for Everton.

"Everton will make it tough for them, of course, but I am not sure how they will hurt the Gunners."

The injury to Saka will certainly be a blow for Everton's opponents, but he has not scored or assisted in his last four against the L3 side.

In the last meeting between these two, Everton nearly held on for a draw, with an 89th-minute opener, followed by a 97th-minute goal sending Arsenal to a 2-0 win.

Sutton's verdict coincides with recent Everton-Arsenal bouts

Sutton may be right to suggest Everton will make it tough for Arsenal, and there could be hope of the Toffees snatching a result.

In five of the last six matches between these two sides, the result has either ended in a draw (twice) or been decided by a margin of just one goal (three times).

The other fixture, as aforementioned, was decided late on.

So, if Everton can dig in, and frustrate the Gunners, there is hope that a positive outcome can come out of this match.

They just need to remain concentrate for the entire game, and not allow any lapses as they did previously.

The Blues have started the season strongly, but Moyes may need to show a little bit more initiative to cause issues on the counter, and provide that threat Sutton believes is lacking.
