Everton loanee and Brentford striker Neal Maupay took a dig at Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo on social media.

Footage emerged of him scoring an impressive goal in training for the Bees ahead of their game against Newcastle on 19 May.

A Manchester United fan appeared to be taking a dig at him by saying he plays with players that are not at a high level and Maupay then replied with a tongue-in-cheek comment about Mainoo.

He wrote on Twitter: "I hope one day Kobbie Mainoo notices you bro."

Everton must look to cash in on Neal Maupay

Maupay bagged six goals and three assists in 28 league games this season and that's a stark improvement from what he did at Goodison Park.

This could increase his market value, allowing Everton to recoup a significant portion of the transfer fee they spent on him.

Furthermore, his performance at Brentford suggests he might not fit into the Toffees' system or the style of play preferred by Sean Dyche.

However, his recent performances indicate that he could be a valuable asset for the club, particularly if they can find a role for him that suits his strengths.

That being said, Maupay's value is never likely to be higher than it currently is so it makes sense to sell him.
