Everton beat Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener on Saturday.

Hill Dickinson Stadium hosted Pierre Sage's team on 22 August, with an exciting first half capped off by a brilliant Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall goal.

David Moyes made some interesting choices in the starting line-up, and some of it worked in the opening 45 minutes, although the Eagles bypassed the Toffees' defence on multiple occasions.

Jordan Pickford ensured Palace didn't score the opener at Hill Dickinson Stadium with some impressive saves, one of which was stunning after Eddie Nketiah's shot.

The 32-year-old shot-stopper has been influential for the Blues for several years now and showed again why he's England's number one.

Plenty of players stood out at home, while some disappointed as the Merseyside outfit won 2-0 after Thierno Barry got on the scoresheet.

Four players who caught the eye for Everton vs Crystal Palace

Pickford is the obvious contender for being the Man of the Match after his display in goal.

Hayden Hackney is another who had an impressive debut for the Toffees, driving the ball forward confidently from midfield and winning it back in crunch moments.

Dewsbury-Hall didn't just score a brilliant goal, but also was the creative force for the Blues.

Iliman Ndiaye's magnificent footwork consistently threatened the Eagles' defence, putting the ball on a plate for Barry for the second, and his impressive work rate never lets Moyes down.

David Moyes can't keep making selection error at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Vitalii Mykolenko continues to be selected by Moyes at left-back despite failing to put in encouraging performances.

The left side of the Blues' defence was wide open during the opening 45 minutes as Palace threatened on multiple occasions.

Mykolenko was also sloppy in the final third and couldn't provide adequate support for George.

It's time the Scottish manager finally realises that Adam Aznou deserves an opportunity in the team.
