Everton finally get their Premier League season underway on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

David Moyes returns to Hill Dickinson Stadium after a summer packed with World Cup football in the United States.

The Premier League still feels like a world away, with a home tie on the opening weekend perfect.

Moyes will want a better start than last season, after crashing to a 1-0 defeat away at newly-promoted Leeds.

And it's Crystal Palace in town, who have been linked with the Blues throughout the summer for several reasons.

It could be more of the same for Everton and Moyes to kick things off, with Goodison News looking at a likely starting XI.

Merlin Rohl to end Everton nightmare?

Jordan Pickford will no doubt start in between the sticks for the Toffees, with the England star back and ready.

Vitaliy Mykolenko will continue at left-back after his new contract, regardless of how fans aren't exactly thrilled with that backing.

Then it's across to James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, with the latter looking for more luck with injuries this season.

And it's Merlin Rohl who looks set to complete the back four, starting on the right, with the experiments set to continue.

Ironically, Daniel Munoz will likely start in that role for Palace after Everton were linked with a shock transfer for the Colombian.

Will Cristian Norgaard start for Everton?

Unfortunately, no.

The experienced midfielder arrives with a slight knock from Arsenal, so will miss out alongside James Garner after his pre-season surgery.

That means the door is open for Hayden Hackney to make his Premier League debut, with Harrison Armstrong likely alongside him.

In an advanced role, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will continue as that number eight, with high hopes on his shoulders for another season.

Iliman Ndiaye has Everton hopes on shoulders

Throughout the summer, it was more likely that Ndiaye would be leaving Everton, so to get here is perfect.

Now, he looks set to stay again and is ready to push the Toffees one step further and into Europe.

He will play off the left, with Thierno Barry as the number nine and Tyler Dibling flying down the right - rewarded for his positive pre-season.

That leaves Brennan Johnson, who swapped Palace for Merseyside, and Tyrique George off the bench to make an impact.

All that matters is three points, with this squad set to look completely different again in less than two weeks.
