Sean Dyche has made the first correct call of the day by dropping Dominic Calvert-Lewin from the confirmed starting lineup to face West Ham at Goodison Park.

The striker has been out of form recently, having not scored since October, and the boss has finally put an end to his seemingly undying faith in the former England international.

Beto is the man chosen to start up front, with Amadou Onana replacing the injured Idrissa Gueye, in an otherwise unchanged XI from the 1-1 draw with Brighton last weekend.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin deservedly dropped by Everton

Calver-Lewin's goalless streak has stretched over 20 in all competitions before Dyche finally saw fit to remove him from the starting lineup. With 19 league starts under his belt this season, and just three goals, it is finally time to call on Beto.

The Portuguese striker has been underwhelming since his big-money move to Goodison Park in the summer, having scored just one league goal in 21 appearances, and Dyche will be hoping he can find better form today.

Of those 21 appearances, only five have come from the start, and the striker averages just 30 minutes per game, so perhaps a run of games to get into the swing of things is exactly what he needs.

Calvert-Lewin was recently given some advice by Newcastle legend Alan Shearer, who urged him to keep plucking away, but that advice failed to make a difference and has ultimately led to his removal from the team.
