Everton: Thierno Barry slammed for 'unneccessary' online post after Arsenal scenes

Thierno Barry has come under fire after he shared footage of Everton fans fighting in the stands away to Arsenal.

The Frenchman was a second-half substitute away at the Emirates as David Moyes' side ultimately fell to an unfortunate 2-0 defeat.

Viktor Gyokeres and Max Dowman scored the winning goals late off the bench, while the Toffees' sub had very little impact in North London.

The striker took just 10 touches in over 20 minutes of action, but has still managed to cause a massive stir on Merseyside.

Barry took to social media after Everton's defeat against Arsenal to slam supporters after a clash in the away end.

A police investigation has begun after a clash at the Emirates among the travelling supporters.

Barry has since claimed that his friends were in the away end and were "attacked" before being escorted out of the stadium by security for their own safety.

He shared a message on social media after footage of the violence in the stands, as he suggested that his pals had their experience "ruined by a few silly people".

That certainly hasn't gone down well with former Everton scout Bryan King, who believes his post did nothing but stir the pot unnecessarily.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said: "I've got no time for social media at all.

"It stirs everything up to try and make it into something more than it needs to be.

"What is Barry trying to do? Prove loyalty or stupidity? It is all totally unnecessary.

"I can't imagine that Barry's friends have truly realised that it's a mistake to go in with the away fans and act in a certain way.

"If you go to the away end, don't jump around when the other team scores, just sit tight and watch the game.

"If you're going to celebrate Arsenal goals, people will start asking questions."

The blame has certainly been placed on Barry at Everton for placing his friends in the away section, and it isn't a good look.

Barry should focus on his football rather than social media

There is nothing good that can come from the number nine taking to social media to hit out at Everton supporters, especially the away fans.

The summer signing has only netted six Premier League goals and has only scored one since the beginning of February.

That has seen Moyes reduce Barry to just one start in the last four games, something which can hardly come as a surprise.

He needs to step up to the plate and start scoring goals more frequently while cutting out unneccessary social media activity.
