Everton vs Stoke City predicted XI: Hayden Hackney makes debut, Tyrique George comes in

Everton remain unbeaten in pre-season with a fixture against Stoke City now looming.

The Blues will be coming off the back of a 4-0 win against Dundee FC and a 0-0 draw with Bolton.

David Moyes will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back from that goalless draw, but the minutes in the legs is all that really matters during pre-season.

In saying that, new signing Hayden Hackney has yet to be seen on the pitch for Everton.

The former Middlesbrough man is integrating into the squad after nursing a calf injury, but could now be set for his chance against the Potters on 28 July.

Will there be any changes at the back for Everton?

After keeping a clean sheet against Bolton, Moyes may be wise to keep the same backline against Stoke City, and we suspect he may do so.

Against the Wanderers, the Scotsman experimented with his formation, opting to use a back five, or a three depending how you view it.

Mark Travers was between the sticks, while Adam Aznou and Merlin Rohl operated as wing-backs.

Rohl has looked exceptional in his new Everton position, and Moyes may continue to see how he fares.

Jarrad Branthwaite, James Tarkowski and Jake O'Brien will form the centre-back trio in the middle.

Could Hayden Hackney finally make Everton debut?

Everton fans have been eagerly awaiting to see Hackney in action for the Toffees and they may now get their chance.

According to The Athletic, Hackney is set to play against Stoke City on Tuesday.

Moyes will have a choice of whether he starts or comes off the bench, but we are predicting him to be ready from the start, and get just the first-half under his belt.

Amid Everton's midfield issues, Tim Iroegbunam is likely to partner him.

Does David Moyes twist or stick in attack?

Everton's attacking prowess was quite blunt against Bolton, so Moyes could be tempted to switch things up.

Charly Alcaraz and Dwight McNeil took their places on the wing, but were ineffective.

This time around, Tyrique George who was lively off the bench will get a chance to shine from the first whistle.

Meanwhile, Harrison Armstrong will come out of the centre and shift to the right-wing.

Thierno Barry looked sharped against Bolton and will keep his place as pre-season preparations continue.

While Moyes may opt to revert to a back-four, pre-season is the time for experimentation and getting a new formation to work would give Everton a new weapon

Hopefully the game against Stoke has a bit more action than what was seen at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
