David Moyes will be a target for Dan Friedkin if Sean Dyche is sacked at Everton, according to The Sun.

The newspaper reported on 23 November that the prospective new owner at Goodison is interested in replacing the current manager with an experienced replacement.

The former Toffees boss is seen as a "serious contender" to replace Dyche because he knows what it takes to survive in the Premier League.

A return to Merseyside would appeal to the 61-year-old if the contract offer is right and Friedkin can convince him of their ideas and transfer budget.

Moyes would certainly be a positive appointment at Goodison given the experience that he would bring to the role.

This can only be seen as a positive by Friedkin as he assesses his options before confirming his long-awaited takeover.

Since leaving the Toffees, the Scot has gone on to manage the likes of Manchester United and Real Sociedad but his best spell came with West Ham.

During his time with the Hammers he won the UEFA Conference League and achieved multiple European place finishes in the Premier League.

These are the sort of goals that Friedkin will be setting for his side when he takes up his role on Merseyside which Dyche may not be able to offer.

The current manager has done well since taking over to keep his side in the league last season despite the negative impact of two points deductions.

To sack the ex-Burnley boss would be a bold statement from the new owners but one Toffees fans would arguably welcome.
