Gabby Agbonlahor reacts live on talkSPORT after Brennan Johnson hits back at Jamie O'Hara jibe
Brennan Johnson could not help but bite back after Jamie O'Hara and Gabby Agbonlahor took a jibe at the Everton new boy.
The Toffees announced the arrival of Wales winger Johnson on a four-year deal until 2030 earlier this week.
In a rarely spotted swap deal, Dwight McNeil departed Everton to join Crystal Palace in the opposite direction also until 2030.
Johnson only moved to Selhurst Park from Tottenham Hotspur in the winter transfer window.
However, the 25-year-old struggled for form during his time with the Eagles, and failed to score in 26 competitive appearances.
But Johnson was quick to retailiate with a great barb after O'Hara and Agbonlahor joked about the deal.
What did Everton ace Johnson say back to O'Hara and Agbonlahor?
Former Tottenham midfielder O'Hara is known as a pundit who often likes to talk big.
And he could not help geting a few digs in about the deal involving Johnson and McNeil when discussing it with ex-Aston Villa forward Agbonlahor live on talkSPORT.
Among the jabs was the rather cruel comment "we'll give you cr*p, we'll give you cr*p back" when discussing the merits of the deal between the two sides.
In fairness to Johnson, he refused to take the barb lying down and hit back in the comments on talkSPORT's Instagram page.
Johnson wrote: "Won more than both of these put together" with a crying with laughter face emoji.
How did Agbonlahor respond to Everton man Johnson?
The tale has not ended there, though.
Agbonlahor was made aware of Johnson's reply on talkSPORT breakfast on Wednesday by co-host Alan Brazil.
The former Villa forward protested his innocence in the situation, and instead tried to pass the buck solely to who O'Hara, who he said should apologise.
"What did I do wrong? It was jamie that said 'cr*p for cr*p'," Agbonlahor said.
"I want to apologise to Brennan Johnson. I could have not laughed, but when someone makes you laugh it's normal to start laughing.
"I thought Jamie O'Hara was out of order. I think Jamie needs to apologise. You can't say 'cr*p for cr*p'. I thought jame was out of order looking back at that now."
With O'Hara due back on air later on Tuesday, it feels like we might not have heard the end of this unnecessary back-and-forth.
