Harvey Foster reveals the David Moyes gesture Everton fans won't have seen
Harvey Foster has lifted the lid on David Moyes after Everton's 4-0 win over Dundee.
The 19-year-old notched his first ever senior Blues goal in the pre-season victory at Dens Park on Saturday.
His strike was the highlight moment from a game that included goals from Beto, Thierno Barry and Dwight McNeil.
Goodison News covered the positives from the contest, including Foster's brilliant moment.
He has now open up on an unseen gesture from the manager from before the contest.
It will paint Moyes in a positive light with the fanbase, after what the Foster has said about his impact.
What did Harvey Foster say about what David Moyes has done at Everton?
Foster shared that Moyes took time out to speak to the Under-21 stars who have travelled with the first-team.
He revealed that he helped them to settle in, and took an interest in each players' game.
Speaking to Everton's media post-game, he said: “He’s been great, settling me in the with the lads, I know I’ve only been with them for a short time.
“That includes everyone of the Under-21s who has been up, he’s talked to us about our game, and it’s really good.”
It suggests that the Scotsman is taking the academy serious, and may be looking for ways to improve his side from within, like he did with Harrison Armstrong when he returned from his loan at Preston.
Why David Moyes needs to take action on latest gesture
Moyes needs to make sure that he gives the Toffees' best talents the chance to prove themselves.
It is all well and good giving them an opportunity in pre-season, when there is no stakes, but they need real minutes.
He needs to show that there a pathway to the senior side, or gems may look elsewhere for regular game time.
The L3 outfit have already lost several promising youth stars, the most recent being Demi Akarakiri, who chose to move to Italian side Cagliari instead of sticking with the Merseysiders.
In recent years, we have seen the likes of Stanley Mills and Isaac Price star in the EFL after leaving the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit.
The Friedkin Group have made changes to the academy to try and streamline the route to the senior side, but it does not mean anything unless Moyes has bought in.
If he does not call-up any youngsters in the next few years, then it will all be for nothing, so hopefully, he will have got the message and start to implement youth.
