Henry Winter names the one thing he expects Everton fans to do vs Man United amid TFG anger

Everton fans are still reeling from an abysmal end to the transfer window.

In a dramatic couple of days to end the summer window, Everton have been right at the heart of the discussion.

The Toffees managed to end up in a situation where they have just one senior striker in the squad, and no senior back-up in either full-back position.

There was also the debacle around Folarin Balogun, who was on the cusp of joining from Monaco but had a change of heart at the last minute after questions were raised during his medical.

Much of the anger has been directed at Everton owners the Friedkin Group, whose commitment to the Toffees cause has been called into question.

With Everton welcoming Manchester United to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, journalist Henry Winter has shared what he expects supporters to do.

Will Everton fans make their voices heard against TFG?

The disappointing thing is that this backdrop has come amid a very solid start to the campaign.

David Moyes' men defeated Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener, outclassed Preston in the Carabao Cup, then earned a last-gasp draw at Bournemouth.

Moyes is now set for a reunion with his former club Man United, and he could have done without the external noise ahead of his game.

Prominent journalist Winter was talking about the situation on talkSPORT on Sunday morning.

He expects Everton supporters to make their voices heard about TFG, but crucially to give their backing to the team and Moyes against Michael Carrick's men.

Winter said: "I'm always fascinated by how you juggle supporting the team and the manager while also coating the board at the same time in terms of not impinging on the atmosphere.

"I'm sure the Everton fans will absolutely be up for it, they'll be getting behind the team, while also making a few points to the Friedkin Group."

After a commercial break, Winter added: "I think they'll make their point about TFG, the Friedkin Group, are they more committed to Roma?

"I think there'll be absolute, I mean total and unconditional support for the team and David Moyes. And David Moyes has always got a point to prove against Manchester United."

Everton fans deserve better

It feels cruel that Everton fans keep having to go through these sort of scenarios.

They have been through the ringer for most of the past decade, and their support for the team and the club has been unwavering.

In truth, the Toffees faithful have been phenomenal in their backing of the team, and this latest kick in the gut just feels entirely unfair.

One thing Moyes is a master at, though, is creating an "us against them" mentality.

If he can do that today, then Everton have a great chance of emerging with all three points despite the tough context heading into the game.
