Iliman Ndiaye superb again, same story for Thierno Barry - Everton player ratings vs Lille
Everton rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw against Lille.
After a mixed set of results in Germany, the Toffees were back on home soil for Saturday's friendly.
A good crowd were in attendance at Hill Dickinson Stadium for the final fixture before the real business begins against Crystal Palace next week.
Iliman Ndiaye put Everton ahead from the penalty spot shortly before half-time after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was brought down in the box.
Everton had some bright moments either side of that breakthrough goal, but they ultimately could not add to Ndiaye's pen.
And David Moyes' men, boosted by the return of Jordan Pickford, were unable to see out a win as Hakon Haraldsson netted in the 93rd minute.
Iliman Ndiaye looks well up for start of season
Plenty has been said about Iliman Ndiaye's future at Everton this summer.
The Senegal international was just be happy that he is now able to do his talking on the field.
Ndiaye continues to be linked with an Everton exit, but there is simply no way the Toffees can sanction a sale for any sort of fee.
He was Everton's liveliest player against Lille as he started out on the left-hand side.
Ndiaye's link-up play was good and he fashioned some good openings in the final third.
His goal from the penalty spot was just rewards for this fine showing, with Ndiaye the first outfield name on the teamsheet against Palace next week.
Same story for Thierno Barry
Thierno Barry started the game for Everton and played a little over an hour on Merseyside.
There is no denying the striker has a little more about him this summer compared to last season.
The 23-year-old is better at holding up the ball and bringing others into the game.
However, Everton quite simply need a striker who can find the back of the net regularly.
This was another occasion in which Barry worked hard, had the odd promising moment, but ultimately did not look like scoring.
Harrison Armstrong was guilty of a dreadful miss in the second half, but it was arguably Barry who was the most disappointing player.
