Everton finalised the signing of Jack Grealish on a season-long loan from Manchester City on Tuesday.

The England international was a fringe player at the Etihad Stadium and has opted to leave in order to secure regular game time.

With the World Cup less than a year away, the 29-year-old is aware that he needs to be playing regularly in order to be a part of Thomas Tuchel's England squad.

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden react to Grealish's move

The Toffees announced the signing of the English attacker on Tuesday, 12 August.

After being linked with a move to the Blues for several weeks, Grealish finally became an Everton player.

Despite not being among the first names on the team sheet, the 29-year-old was quite popular inside the City dressing room.

  • Grealish has made 190 Premier League appearances
  • He has 16 goal contributions from just 26 league outings for Aston Villa in 2020/21
  • He started only seven league games for Manchester City last season

Both Erling Haaland and Phil Foden posted about him as his move to the Merseyside outfit got finalised.

Grealish told Haaland: "I will miss you, brother. Love you."

The new Everton signing also responded to Foden wishing him good luck, as he wrote: "Thanks, star boy."

Everton can push for top-half finish with Grealish

Grealish’s confirmed signing by Everton is a transformative coup for a club targeting a top-half Premier League finish.

At 29, he brings proven quality, with his flair and vision.

His ability to unlock defences with incisive dribbling and precise passing aligns perfectly with Moyes’ pragmatic yet evolving system, which increasingly incorporates attacking fluidity.

Grealish’s versatility to play across the attacking midfield or left wing adds tactical flexibility, addressing Everton’s need for creativity after a lacklustre attacking output last season.

His leadership, honed through multiple trophies, can galvanise a squad blending youth and experience.

The former Aston Villa skipper's star power and work rate elevate Everton’s competitiveness, making them genuine contenders for a top-10 finish.

His hunger to prove himself post-City makes this move a catalyst for Everton’s ambitions, energising fans and squad alike.
