Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall accused of 'wild play' in Everton vs Ipswich Town

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had hearts racing in Everton's 1-0 win over Ipswich Town for all the wrong reasons.

The attacking midfielder is a reliable option for David Moyes' side, capable of grabbing goals and assists regularly.

He has managed one goal so far this season in five Premier League appearances.

Thierno Barry gave the Blues the lead in the 11th minute, deflecting James Tarkowski's effort into the net.

However, it was not all plain sailing at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the Toffees not having everything their own way.

Dewsbury-Hall left supporters and his manager with their hearts in their mouths just moments before, though.

What was Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's wild moment in Everton win?

The former Chelsea man attempted a no-look pass on the edge of his own box in the 10th minute.

It did not pay off, as the ball went straight to the Tractor Boys' striker, Emersonn.

Liverpool Echo reporter Chris Beesley spotted the incident, saying: “A severe lapse in concentration from Dewsbury-Hall as, when just outside his own area, he plays a no-look pass straight into the path of Ipswich Town’s Emersonn.

“Thankfully Everton clear the danger but that was a piece of wild play.”

Luckily, for the L3 outfit, it did not result in a goal for the visitors and Dewsbury-Hall was bailed out.

However, his overall performance left a lot to be desired on a difficult afternoon for the 28-year-old.

How did Dewsbury-Hall perform vs Ipswich?

Dewsbury-Hall was not very sloppy with his passes overall, completing 91 per cent of them in the contest.

According to FotMob data, he created two chances for his teammates and recorded three shots in the clash.

The Englishman had six touches in the opposition box and managed nine line-breaking passes.

Defensively, he made seven contributions, with two tackles and five recoveries.

Dewsbury-Hall managed to win four of his six ground duels attempted, for a 67 per cent success rate.

It was a much improved performance as the game went on and he made up for the error which nearly put his side on the back foot early on.

It appears to just be a small blip and he will get back to his usual performance levels and start getting back among the goals and assists sooner rather than later.

When he is on form, he is one of the Toffees' best players, and that was the case as the game went on against the East Anglian side.
