Former Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac reportedly set to be invited by Everton to offer a presentation as they look to finalise an appointment.

According to The Mirror's David Maddock, Farhad Moshiri decided to hit the breaks on appointing Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira amid backlash from the club hierarchy.

Along with Kovac, the club will also invite former Lyon boss Rudi Garcia to stake his claim for the Goodison Park hot seat.

Avoid Kovac

The Croatian manager went to Bayern Munich with his stock at an all-time high.

Many expected him to deliver what the club wanted from him, but he failed to win the Champions League there and their domestic form also took a massive hit.

Since then, he took over the Monaco job where he did not do well either and was recently sacked by the Ligue 1 club.

Rather than taking a manager just because he's managed a big side in the past, the club must appoint a young and upcoming manager.

Brighton's Graham Potter is certainly an option they must consider as they have the financial pull to lure him away from the Amex Stadium.

However, Moshiri appears hell-bent on the big names and this decision is not going to take the club forward anytime soon.
