Supercomputer predicts Everton's chances in Carabao Cup clash vs Wolves

Everton are gearing up for their next fixture in the Carabao Cup against Wolves.

The Blues are hoping to end their long wait for another honour in English football, and the Carabao Cup will be the first opportunity this season to do so.

A draw at home, to a side in the second tier, is a favourable one for David Moyes.

However, the Scotsman will be taking no chances, with Moyes spotted watching Wolves over the weekend.

With the L3 outfit being the Premier League side and at home, it will come as no surprise that Everton are the favourites.

That is after a supercomputer shared the Blues' chances of victory on 16 September.

What has the supercomputer predicted for Everton vs Wolves?

Everton look likely to progress into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup based on the supercomputer's projections.

That would give Moyes' side another opportunity to build momentum and continue their encouraging start to the season.

As predicted by Opta's supercomputer, Everton have been given a 70 per cent chance of winning on Wednesday night.

Opposition Wolves have been given 12 per cent, with a draw between the two standing at 16 per cent.

Of course, with this being a cup clash, the game will end with one of these two sides exiting the competition.

In the event of a draw, the fixture will head straight to penalties, but Moyes will want to avoid that lottery by winning in 90 minutes.

The Everton-Wolves trend David Moyes needs to beat

Everton have not had much luck against Wolves over the years, with the Old Gold often getting one over the Toffees.

In the last 10 meetings between the two, the Midlands club have won five of those fixtures.

While Everton have managed just two wins in that same period.

However, Everton do have Moyes in charge and the Scotsman holds a strong record against the Championship side.

He has won 13 of his 25 games against the Molineux outfit - a 52 per cent win rate.

So, hopefully Moyes can buck Everton's poor trending record against Wolves by continuing to boost his own personal results.

The Toffees will also have to be wary of Raul Jimenez, who is the highest scoring active player in this fixture.

The Mexican has already scored three goals this season already.
