Tony Bellew is not having Jason Cundy’s latest claims about his beloved Everton.

It is safe to say that Blues have not had much to celebrate in recent history, as they have not won a trophy since 1995.

The end of the transfer window has also brought ridicule after they missed out on Folarin Balogun in dramatic fashion on deadline day.

However, Bellew believes that the talkSPORT host went too far with his rant about the Toffees.

He has issued his own response, and it was absolutely savage, and tore the former Chelsea man to shreds.

The former boxing champion turned personal after what has been said about the L3 outfit.

What did Tony Bellew say to Jason Cundy after Everton criticism?

Cundy laid out his sympathy for Blues supporters, basically calling the club pointless.

Speaking live on talkSPORT on Thursday's edition of the Sports Bar, he said: "They hang around, they just linger.

"They are a bad odour, they hang around, and they don't do anything.

"They are literally living off their history, what do they do? I reckon being an Everton fan is worse than being a Spurs fan...

"No one cares about Everton, even Everton fans don't care about Everton... they are insignificant."

Bellew took to his personal X account to reply to a clip of Cundy's outburst.

He said: "Cundy the clown is rage baiting again!

"We have more league titles than your lot! A better stadium than your lot! Oh and a far better fanbase!

"Everton will rise again just like your hairline did after visiting Turkey, if your Hairline was able to be brought back then so are Everton."

Bellew may not have liked the claims, but are they justified?

Dan Friedkin has golden opportunity at Everton - but Donald Trump could complicate matters

Are Cundy's claims justified after Bellew outburst?

Well, the Toffees' fanbase have not seen their side win a trophy in a long-time, that point is indisputable.

Things had looked more positive under the Friedkin Group, as they had aspirations of pushing the club into a successful new era.

However, things have soured recently after they left David Moyes short in the transfer market.

The only way that they can get things back on track is to reassure Blues supporters that they are willing to drive the long-term future of the club.

That starts with bringing Moyes the players that he requires, investing heavy sums into the squad and the facilities, and turning their words into actions.

Right now, as unfortunate as it is, Cundy's claims are not far from the truth for many supporters, and something needs to change as soon as possible.

They need to start either winning trophies, starting with the domestic cup competitions or qualify for Europe, to start challenging the narrative that is currently prevailing.

They have a chance in the Carabao Cup, after Carlos Alcaraz's strike saw them get past Wolves in midweek.

Bellew's fury and his outburst rely on history to try and make their point, but it is about time that the Blues made some new history.
