The clash will be different for multiple reasons, after David Ornstein reported on Thursday that Howe will leave his post imminently.
There will likely be much more eyes on it now, given that the Toon Army will likely have their new manager in place by then.
It could lead to more tickets being sold, as supporters seek to get a look at the boss who takes over.
The St James' Park side will also have a different tactical approach, than what they would have had under Howe, so it could give David Moyes an insight of what he will face later in the season.
The Merseysiders boss will be looking to see how he can get the best of Thierno Barry and others against a league rival.
Why pre-season clash will not give Everton too much insight
The L3 outfit will likely not gain too much of an advantage when it comes to learning the tactics of the new man, if he is in place by the time they face the Magpies.

It is likely that the side that Moyes' side come up against in pre-season will be very different to the one that they face in competitive action later in the campaign.
